RE: Yes you, the Vectra Owner! (and others too)

Hey, Guys! Just another thought here.
The driver of the "slow Poke" may have read an article on fuel prices and economical driving practices. He may have thought he was doing the environment and his pocketbook a favor by maintaining a slower speed overall, and holding his throttle position steady as he climbed the hill. He did not want to pull off, because then he would use more fuel to accelerate back to his "highway speed".
Remember, they don't require IQ tests for drivers licenses. ;-)

RE: New Hard Drive and All???

Well... without a password, I cannot access the machine. Yes, I'm the administrator. Therefore; I cannot change anything in Safe Mode, nor can I access the drive to reformat and reinstall. I'm going to try the link to the password service mentioned by 8.1 van.
Thanks to all.

Kudos

I have a problem with one of the electric mirrors on my Minnie. Everytime I hit a bump, I have to readjust the mirror. I could not figure out how to get into it to tighten what must be a loose friction fitting.
Lurking on this forum for a while I discovered people referring to Velvac mirrors. I finally did a little surfing and found their site. http://www.velvac.com/RVs_only/home/home.html
I called the 800 number and a service tech listened to my problem and promptly told me he would e-mail me the approrpriate drawings and info. Five minutes later I was printing it off and copying the file to DVD for reference on the road.
Just thought kudos were in order for a company that could have just blown me off.

New Hard Drive and All???

Help! I have a perfectly good laptop. It runs in XP Pro. I've lost the password. Anyone know how to access this thing and reset the password? I'd hate to have to buy a new harddrive and the programs too.
Thanks for the help!

RE: camping in North or South Carolina

Myrtle Beach SP and Huntington Beach SP are very close together. they are near the City of Myrtle Beach and, more importantly, close to Murrell's Inlet. (Better known as "restaurant row.) Of the two I picked Myrtle Beach SP. It is less than 300 yards to the beach, you can hear the surf on most nights. Very protected sites in the "Piney Woods". Has a nice fishing pier.
Huntington Beach sites are mostly in the open, flat field. Very little protection, or shade. About the same distance to the beach. BUT, the park is beautiful for day trips. The marsh is beautiful. The "castle" of Atalaya is really neat. We find more shells and sand dollars on the beach there.
OK Just my $.02 worth.

RE: Things to see on the way home - wash to calif.

If you go to Anacortes, visit Fort Clatsop, where Lewis and Clark wintered. then out to the Park at the end of the Columbia river. GREAT spot! The next day, head south to Cannon Beach, and then on down to Boiler Bay. Just keep on truckin', as it's all beautiful out there.

RE: Wandering Mirror

Thanks! I'll take a look. As far as I know these are "stock" electric mirrors with heaters.
again, Thanks!

Wandering Mirror

The RH mirror on my E350 chassis wants to tilt down after every bump. It is a hassel to constantly have to "bump" it back up so I can see the road down that side of the rig. Is there any user available fix?

RE: Are posters here in denial??

The DW and I were worried about the cost of fuel crimping our style. We just bought our '03 Minnie Winnie in August. After much "What iffin'" I wrote a little Excel spreadsheet. I figure the cost of fuel for both the car and the RV. I figure the cost of a campsite for the trip and also the cost of a motel, or SP Lodge. I'm quite surprised at the savings I can get by RVing vs staying in other lodging.
If you're interested in trying this application yourself, PM me and I'll send you my formulas.

RE: 1st time out for the season

As soon as the DW wakes up we're headed for Salt Fork SP (around Cambridge, Ohio). Some friends will join us later and Saturday is dinner at a great winery over there. We've been out several times this winter. I don't mind winterizing the water system because of the enjoyment we've had.
Ohio's got the best SPs I've ever stayed in.

RE: Best campground to stay in Myrtle Beach...

If you are into the ocean, forest, and camping, try Myrtle Beach State Park, or Huntington Beach State Park. The fees are comparable, and the hustle and bustle are much less.
Just my 2 cents worth.

RE: Sticky Dump Valves

New poster with similiar problem.
Ok, I'll try some of your tricks. That should help take some of the stiffness out of the operation. My real problem is the grey water tank valve leaks constantly. I'm afraid there is something, potato peel or similiar, stuck in the seat. I had to replace the cable because I pushed the sheath off of the choke rod trying to get the little thing closed.
anyone have any suggestions for getting the whatever it is out of the seal?
Thanks!

RE: I canoe. Can you?

Hey! Thanks to everyone!!!
I agree that a toad or trailer is going to be the answer. Right now, I can't afford either one. Sooooooo... The wife thinks we can slide the boat in through the camper door, make a bend as we get to the midships point and haul it in the aisle. We shall see, may have to put the slide out to make the turn. GOT to get it to Murrell's Inlet so we can canoe the marsh. Please, wish us luck.

I canoe. Can you?

Hi everybody! I moved from a PUP to a Minnie Winnie 31C. I used to plop the canoe on the top of the PUP and drive away. Now, I need any suggestions as to how to haul a 16' fiberglass and kevlar canoe? Don't think I can lash it to the top, as it would make the rig a "little" too tall.
Thanks for the help
